Adult speech and language therapy services

Patients with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties arising from:

  • Voice disorders
  • Stroke
  • Head injury
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Other neurological disorders

Specific speech, language and swallowing difficulties may include:

  • Aphasia (including difficulties with understanding, spoken language, reading or writing
  • Dysarthria
  • Dyspraxia
  • Dysphonia (voice problems - it is important that patients with voice difficulties have been fully assessed by an ENT consultant before starting therapy)
  • Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties)

What we can provide:

  • Clinic appointments (brackwell), home visits, or online therapy
  • Assessment (including report)
  • Individual personalised therapy sessions
  • Therapy programme to be completed between sessions
  • Liaison with other professionals including G.P.s consultants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists.
